What is a DCDC charger?

A DCDC charger is a direct current to direct current charger that ensures your battery is charged at the correct voltage level. This prolongs the life of your battery. The charger uses the alternator to optimise and reach the correct capacity of your battery. You are also able to connect a solar panel to your charger to continue charging your battery when your vehicle engine is off.

How Big of a DCDC Charger do I Need?

Ensuring your battery is not charged too slow or too fast is critical to your battery’s life span. Flooded cell, AGM and GEL batteries often will need to be charged at 10-20 percent of the battery’s capacity. For lithium batteries, it’s important to check the user manual to ensure you are charging at the correct current.
